RANKED: All the films of Guillermo del Toro

9. Mimic (1997)

Guillermo del Toro’s second outing as a director was a bit of a mess but, if reports are to be believed, that wasn’t entirely his fault. Apparently, the studio edited his movie to hell without the director’s consent, meaning the final product of Mimic is rather different than how del Toro intended it. That’s pretty impressive given that, even though this movie is a mess and the pacing is all over the place, the second half of it is still a pretty fun monster movie — and by monster, we mean giant gross bugs that take the can disguise themselves as humans. You know, normal Guillermo del Toro stuff.

The fella over there with the hella good hair. Movies and TV are my jam, and the fact that I get to write about them on a regular basis is the bees knees.
