Lionsgate's Hellboy trailer made its debut on December 19, with all hopes of the wise-cracking, comic book demon kicking ass and taking names, all while trying to save the world against a medieval sorceress.
The reboot has a new all-star cast, starring Stranger Things David Harbour, along with classic actors Ian McShane and Daniel Dae Kim, including Sasha Lane and the film's villain, Milla Jovovich.
Director Neil Marshall (Game of Thrones, The Descent) takes director Guillermo Del Toro's place for the new Hellboy, who decided to base the storyline closer to the comics than del Toro's loosely based 2004 and 2008 versions.
If you hadn't already noticed, the new film will be without fan favorites Ron Perlman and Selma Blair. The actors both took to Instagram with shady posts about the 2019 trailer promotion.
Blair posted a photo of herself hugging and looking longingly at Perlman’s "Big Red" portrayal. “This man, Ron Perlman,” Blair wrote in an Instagram caption. “Forever my Red. You are always the realest deal, a diamond.”
Perlman let the post speak for itself, reposting a video from Netflix where del Toro’s Hellboy is streaming.

Fans took to social media after the trailer dropped, comparing Harbour's Hellboy with Perlman's.
