The state of Pennsylvania with all of its history and famous landmarks has been the location of many films and TV shows.
Quaker William Penn founded Philadelphia in 1682. It was the meeting place of the founding fathers who wrote the Declaration of Independence, and later held the Constitutional Convention that formed the government of the United States.
Philadelphia, the largest city in Pennsylvania, is also home to many different sports teams, making it a great place to film movies and TV shows. Home to the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum, made famous by the movie Rocky, the city offers a variety of locations for filming.
Pittsburgh was named in 1758 by General John Forbes, in honor of William Pitts, the first Earl of Chatham. The city is located at the junction of the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio Rivers. It is the second largest city in the state and is the 26 largest in the U.S. Pittsburgh is also called the Steel City for the 300 steel-related businesses and the City of Bridges for its 446 bridges.
While both cities are famous for their history, some amazing movies and television shows have come out of both locations.
