Vivian Tenorio: 5 amazing things about the host of YouTube's 'Vivian Tries'

Vivian Tries is one of the most fun things you can see on YouTube!

Vivian Tenorio is a quintessential success story. She is a successful entrepreneur, author, podcaster, motivational speaker and vlogger. Tenorio is the mastermind behind The Secret Life of Vivian and Vivian Tries with more than 100,000 subscribers, but if someone looked at her early dossier, they may not have taken a gamble on her.

Vivian Tenorio

Believing in a Hispanic, high school dropout who had a child as a teen and became a very young bride, may not have come naturally to people who were looking in from the outside. The good news is that Vivian, with the love and support of her husband, daughter and the rest of her family, believed in herself and made her own destiny.

That is a lesson in itself—you never know someone's capacity for success.

Vivian Tentorio, who is now in her early 40s, took a treasured family recipe and launched Signature Flan that was carried in great chains such as Whole Foods. Always having an independent streak, she knew she wanted to be her own boss, so she carried on by launching an entrepreneurial podcast called Girl on Purpose and then began creating her own web series The Secret Life of Vivian and Vivian Tries.

I discovered the latter last week and I have been bingeing it ever since. Here are hundreds of well-produced videos hosted by a bubbly, smart and curious woman who has a natural watchable quality and spends time spending trying various gadgets, appliances, international foods, beauty products, with stuff that are advertised As Seen on Television, the Wish app and dollar stores being favorites. I just can't turn away.

Vivian Tenorio is friendly, helpful, super-funny, self-proclaimed as a little OCD (boy, do I want to hire her to organize my life), sometimes deliciously foul-mouthed (think a real Claire from Outlander) and always incredibly relatable.

Products are rated with cartoon Vivian Heads. A great product gets five whopping Vivian Heads, where a bad product gets only one, though a few real doozies have received no Vivian Heads.

Watching her try a successful product is almost as fun as seeing her frustration when a product doesn't live up to its commercial.
