Yesterday morning, October 24, several packages were mailed in manila envelopes. Each had six Forever stamps and labeled with the Florida return address of "DEBBIE WASSERMAN SHULTZ" [sic].

According to the FBI, the packages were addressed to former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Attorney General Eric Holder, former CIA Director John Brennan and major Democratic donor George Soros.

The FBI said the packages were similar in appearance and contained what they described as "potentially destructive devices."

CNN's New York bureau, in the Time Warner Center, was also evacuated after a package containing a bomb, addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan, was discovered, city and local law enforcement officials said.

An official states that the device delivered to CNN is currently at Rodman’s Neck in the Bronx and is still being tested.

Additionally, officials said that once authorities are finished with the device, it will be sent to Quantico, where further testing will be done on the materials to determine what they are.

According to law enforcement sources, the devices were indeed capable of detonating, however, it is unclear the kind of damage it would have caused.

Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, announced doubling security at key areas across the New York City metro area. In a press release, Cuomo stated, "Out of an abundance of caution, I am deploying 100 additional National Guard soldiers and directing State law enforcement to double security at vital assets across New York."

He added, "New Yorkers have never succumbed to fear or intimidation, and today will be no different. We are tough, we are resilient and we will not allow terrorist thugs to change the way we lead our lives. We will not let terrorism win — not today, not ever."

The FBI is cautioning the public to remain alert after suspicion of more potential packages. The FBI stated, "It is possible that additional packages were mailed to other locations."

This morning it was reported that additional suspicious packages were sent to former Vice President Joe Biden and legendary actor Robert De Niro at his office in downtown Manhattan. According to the FBI, the packages were similar to the pipe bombs sent to political and media figures in the past few days.

Officials state that the packages addressed to Biden was discovered at a postal facility in New Castle, Delaware, and another was found at a postal facility in Wilmington, Delaware. Officials had also suspected that a package addressed to Biden was somewhere within the postal system.

A New York building worker notified authorities about a package addressed to De Niro. The building worker called after seeing the multiple news reports of about other pipe bombs. He remembered seeing the suspicious package a day or two earlier.

That package was found at De Niro's restaurant Tribeca Grill, and the offices of De Niro's film and television production company, Tribeca Productions. Police said there was no need for evacuation.

This brings the total mail bomb targeting to eight.
