“Gonna raise up a tall glass/Tonight as we look back/Back on all the life that we lived through/Yeah, the things that we drink to,” sings Morgan Evans on the titular track of his debut album released October 12.

And it’s out!!! Crazy feeling to finally release this music into the world. I have spent the morning reading your posts and your comments. Thank you for listening & thank you for everything that has made it possible to release this album. I hope you love it even half as much as I loved making it for you. Feeling very grateful today. #ThingsThatWeDrinkTo
Evans certainly has a lot to toast. In addition to dropping Things That We Drink To, he will be celebrating one year of marriage to fellow singer, Kelsea Ballerini this December.
Love, then, is an overarching theme on Things That We Drink To. From the opening track, “American,” in which Evans shares that his girl is making him “fall in love with everything American” to the sweet wedding song, “I Do” to the tender duet, “Dance With Me” between him and wife, Ballerini.
Similarly, fun and youthfulness are also themes at play on up-tempo party songs like “Day Drunk” and “Young Again” whose guitar and drum sounds and catchy choruses make them energetic and danceable.
Overall, Things That We Drink To is a good balance between emotional and carefree and Evans is a solid vocalist who makes a powerful introduction into the country genre.
