Meghan Markle's baby bump was real! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting.

The Duchess of Sussex is pregnant, no more need for speculation!

Meghan Markle may not have been vocal about the possibility of a new royal, but her clothes and body language painted another picture.

For weeks the ever-stylish Duchess still dressed to thrill, but there was a noticeable hiding of her middle with ruching, belts and forgiving fabrics, so royal watchers had been speculating.

Now, constantly seeking a baby bump in someone famous can be a tedious task, and while Meghan Markle deserves her privacy too, she and Prince Harry were verbal about wanting to start a family soon. That meant the eyes of the world were on them, perhaps even a bit more than they already were on these beautiful newlyweds.

So, when, on the morning of October 15, Kensington Palace announced that she and hubby Harry are indeed expecting a baby this spring, the world may not have been totally surprised.

The official announcement reads:

"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019. Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.
"Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public. "

The baby, who is due to arrive in the spring will be the seventh in line for the British throne and will be the first person of mixed race in the line of succession.

Prince William and wife Kate have offered their congratulations, along with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Camilla. Other members of the family in attendance for Princess Eugenie's wedding were also able to offer congratulations in person.

People have already started speculating about baby names. If it is a girl, betting on Diana as a first or middle name should be a safe bet.  And since Prince William ended up being gifted his mother's ring from Prince Harry, perhaps the deal is that if Harry and Meghan have a baby girl, they will be able to be the first to honor Princess Diana. But of course, that is another speculation.

Whatever the name or gender, we wish Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan a hearty congratulations!
