WWE 2k19 is only a couple of weeks away from its release date. With the day quickly approaching, more news and details have been coming out and it's looking good to me. It's not all perfect though and I'll to that, but let's start with the positive.
The DLC was announced recently and we got what we all expected as far as more playable superstars. They will be spread out in different packs released at different times.
The Rising stars pack will feature Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai, Lacey Evans, Maria Kanellis, Mike Kanellis, Lio Rush and Ricochet.
The Titans pack will include Bobby Lashley, EC3 and the War Raiders.
Fans were expecting Ricochet, Lashley and EC3 to be included, but the additional names for this pack are a welcomed surprise. Maria and Mike Kanellis being included is a head-scratcher due to the fact that they have been seen on TV in quite some time.
WWE 2k19 has featured a Hall of Fame DLC pack the last few years for past versions of the game. It doesn't seem like we are getting that this year which means no Jeff Jarrett and no Dudley Boyz. A bit disappointing but I guess there are only so many spots to give out. The Ric Flair showcase included in the deluxe edition should become available as DLC for all game versions at some point also.
The Universe mode has gotten some upgrades as well. With an even more customizable experience, players will be able to choose the match types to appear on each show. You can have singles matches all the time, four-way matches or mix it up. This is something that has lacked in past years as many match types never seem to appear in universe mode.
You can now add tournaments to shows which was something else missing from past versions. So you can have your own Dusty Rhodes Classic or Mae young Classic to headline a PPV event. The biggest inclusion this year will be the Women's Royal Rumble match.
WWE made history this past January will the debut of the Women's Royal Rumble and now you can too in WWE 2k19.
So with all the details seemingly revealed, WWE 2k19 looks like it's going to be a fun game. I know fans expect more every year from 2k as we all wish for the days that THQ developed WWE games. I understand the woes of the fans but I still think it will be a game worth getting.
