The Chainsmokers released their new song, “This Feeling” with Kelsea Ballerini on Tuesday.
Sonically, “This Feeling” is a fun, danceable pop track complete with strong guitar sounds and synth. Lyrically, it details the complexities of wanting to pursue a romantic relationship that one’s friends disapprove of.
Sings Ballerini, “They tell me think with my head, not that thing in my chest/They got their hands at my neck this time/But you’re the one that I want, and if that’s really so wrong/Then they don’t know what this feeling is like.”
Similarly, Andrew Taggart of The Chainsmokers sings, “Hold onto your opinions, and stand by what you say (stand by what you say)/In the end, it’s my decision, so it’s my fault when it ends.”
Both infectious and relatable, “This Feeling” has the potential to become one of radio’s biggest crossover hits, with airplay coming from mainstream as well as country channels.
