The new Captain Marvel trailer hypes fans up with action, nostalgia and comic book references.
During a 2016 Marvel Comic Con panel, chief of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige announced that Brie Larson will be playing the role of superhero Captain Marvel. After getting an official picture of Larson in her costume, we now have the official Captain Marvel trailer.
At the beginning of the trailer, we see Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) fall from the sky and land in a blockbuster. This is no coincidence because the movie takes place in the '90s. We then hear a voice over of a young Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) saying, "War is a universal language, and I know a renegade soldier when I see one. It never occurred to me that one might come from above."
After, we see a montage of actions scenes and flashbacks of Danvers' from when she was little.
From the trailer, it suggests that Danvers is dealing with some type of memory loss. She states, "I keep having these memories. I see flashes. I think I had a life here. But I can't tell if it's real."
We then see her with several other characters such as Mar-Vel (Jude Law), Ronan (Lee Pace), Korath (Djimon Hounsou), Att-Lass (Algenis Perez Soto), Bron-Char (Rune Temte) and Minn-Erva (Gemma Chan). Captain Marvel and the other characters are part of StarForce, an elite military team, on the Kree planet of Hala.
The movie will also involve the Skrulls. The Skrulls are shapeshifting aliens come to invade earth. In the Captain Marvel trailer, you see Danvers punching an old woman whose real identity is a Skrull. The Skrulls will be led by Talos who is played by Ben Mendelsohn.
