Rapper Cardi B clashed with Nicki Minaj’s security detail at New York Fashion Week on Friday, leaving the event with a bruise over her eye, a torn dress and only one shoe.
TMZ posted footage of the incident that night, during which Cardi B threw herself at Minaj but was then elbowed in the face by her security. According to TMZ’s witnesses, Cardi’s only objective was to “address the lies Nicki was spreading,” but quickly changed tack when things got physical.
Cardi yelled to Minaj, “Write some s*** about my kid again, b****!” and ended up throwing her shoe at her fellow rapper before being escorted from the gala. The New York Police Department is investigating the altercation.
Later that night, Cardi took to Instagram to send a message to Minaj: things were far from over.

The feud between Cardi and Minaj reportedly started as early as March 2017, when Cardi performed with artist Remy Ma, with whom Nicki had already drawn battle lines. The Minaj/Remy feud had brewed for over a decade, and by performing alongside Remy's diss track "ShETHER," Cardi stood firmly in opposition to Minaj.
Minaj has not yet publicly commented on the incident.
