CW's DC Universe lives on, as well as Riverdale
Ten of the current series airing on CW will be returning for another season.
Here is a list of what's to come:
- Arrow (Season 7)
- Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (Season 4)
- Legends of Tomorrow (Season 4)
- The Flash (Season 5)
- Jane the Virgin (Season 5)
- Riverdale (Season 3)
- Supergirl (Season 4)
- Supernatural (Season 14)
The newer shows Black Lightning and Dynasty will also be getting second seasons. The final decisions for originals iZombie, The 100, Life Sentence and Valor will be made in May.
The continuation of Riverdale comes as no surprise as the show has gotten a spike in popularity during season 2. This may be due to CW's smart decision to stream the show's first season on Netflix (hopefully we'll get season 2 soon also).
President of CW Mark Pedowitz said in a statement,
“As The CW expands to a six-night, Sunday through Friday schedule next season, we are proud to have such a deep bench of great returning series for 2018-19. By picking these ten series up for next season, we have a terrific selection of programming to choose from when we set our fall schedule in May, with more still to come. And I’m especially happy that we’ll continue to work with the incredibly talented casts, producers, and writers who create the series our fans are so passionate about.”
A two-hour Sunday primetime block is the newest addition to CW's timeslots. This will change their original programming lineup from five nights a week to six.
