July 24 celebrity birthday: Happy birthday Jennifer Lopez

Today is the 47th birthday for a woman of many talents.  Not only is Jennifer Lopez an actress, dancer, style icon and singer, but she also is a fashion designer and producer.  Her beauty and booty are common topics of discussion.

She is middle daughter of three kids born in the Bronx to Puerto Rican parents. At five years old, she started taking dancing and singing lessons. She spent her childhood and teenage years excelling athletically in Catholic schools.  In her last year of high school, she tried out her first film My Little Girl and decided that she wanted to be a star.

Lopez first got notoriety in 1991 as Fly Girl dancer on In Living Color. After a few years and some minor roles, she went on to star in Selena in 1997. She became the first Latina to earn more than $1 million.  In 1999, she spread her wings further and debuted her first studio album On the 6 which includes the hit Waiting for Tonight.

Hit movies like Anaconda, The Wedding Planner, Out of Sight, Maid in Manhattan, and Monster-in-Law kept coming and more albums and hits followed. She became also known as J. Lo.  She got in front of the TV audience when she became a judge on American Idol.

Her beauty and fashion savvy make her a staple on the red carpet.  Lopez is often seen on best dressed lists.

In 2014, she joined Pitbull and Claudia Leitte and recorded "We Are One (Ole Ola)--“ the official song of the 2014 FIFA World Cup

Her love life has always been of interest to the public.  Married and divorced three times, she has had other high-profile romances with Sean Combs and Ben Affleck. She has twins who were born in 2008 from third husband, Marc Anthony.

Lopez is involved with many charities, but often goes without any fanfare to cheer up the kids at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Happy Birthday, Jennifer Lopez.
